Root Down to Rise Up

Online somatic therapy in Massachusetts for adults and parents who understand their anxiety but still feel it in the body.

What is somatic therapy, and why does it reach what talk therapy can't?

You can know exactly why you feel anxious and still feel your chest tighten or your thoughts race before you've decided anything. That gap lives in the nervous system, not in your understanding. Somatic therapy works from the body up rather than the mind down. Instead of only talking about what happened, we notice how your body holds it, so the pattern can settle where it actually lives. For many people, this is the part that talk therapy alone never quite reached.

I draw on EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing to do this work, gentle, body-based approaches that help your nervous system feel safe enough to change.
